Kayaks In Paradise (Oil Landscape - Hawaii)

"Kayaks In Paradise"
16" x 20" oil on canvas

This oil landscape of kayaks on the Kawainui Canal in Kailua on the island of Oahu is near Kailua Beach Park.  In fact, the Kawainui Canal empties into the ocean there (in the unseen foreground).   Everyone refers to Hawaii as "Paradise", thus the title of the painting.

For more information on this area and photographs, please visit my photography blog here .

Harbor In Paradise

6"x6" Acrylic on Raymar panel
$325

This harbor is near Ala Moana beach park in Honolulu.  I painted it pretty true to the reference photo I had taken a couple of months ago.   It was also painted right before I broke my right elbow on June 3 .  Since my right arm is of course still in a cast, I cannot hold a camera properly to photograph my paintings so I scanned the original painting on my printer to be able to post it here.  I personally believe the camera is more true than the scan on the printer, but wanted to share this painting with you and let you know I am looking forward to when I will be able to paint again in a few weeks.  Typing with my left hand index finger is slow going as well, so will be grateful when I can type normally again.

Thank you for stopping by and please visit again soon.    It will be August before I can begin painting again, but I will be posting any news and photos before then.

Please feel free to comment and to inquire about purchasing this or another painting.

"Rainbow Bridge- Haliewa"

4"x6" Acrylic on board   $125

Haliewa is a charming "artsy" town on the North Shore of Oahu.  I love to visit there and usually have lunch at Cholos Mexican Restaurant  or Haliewa Joe's.   Both have excellent food.   There is even a Wyland gallery in this quaint town, as well as several other art galleries.    The Rainbow Bridge depicted in this painting is so narrow that it does not allow room for 2 way traffic.   Lanes have to wait til it is clear to procede across.  The restaurant Haliewa Joe's is to the immediate right of this scene.

Lifeguard Boat at Waimea Bay

4" x 6" Acrylic
$125
Waimea Bay is on the North Shore of Oahu across the road from a botanical garden I frequent. So when I go to the beach there to take photos, I find a lot of subject matter to photograph at the gardens as well. There is a very nice waterfall at the gardens I intend to paint in the near future. Very popular area.
Life is good and I feel blessed to be able to paint to my heart's content here in "paradise".
Please feel free to contact me if you would like a special commission of a particular place or pet or flowers. I could work from your photos. I do not paint portraits of people, however.
