I had a grand time with this oil painting of a red tulip and red striped material.   Looking at it again makes me want to paint another still life, but currently I am working on two landscapes that I hope to complete soon.

This is the last painting offered in the December Art Sale.   All paintings will remain the same sale price through the month of December, and those not sold will revert back to their original higher price beginning January 1.

We Four (Red and White Tulips)

This painting is rather a bold statement, but that is the effect I wanted.  I hope to paint more tulips soon, maybe some soft pink ones.   Everyone must realize that tulips do not grow in Hawaii's tropical climate, but I buy them from the florist to paint and just enjoy their beauty for a few days in my home.   I planted several varieties of tulips in my garden when I lived in New England, as well as crocus and daffodils.  What a pretty sight every Spring !

"Red Tulips And Calico"

This little gem was a bit time consuming with the extra detail in the calico cloth.   Just the same,  I will use this calico fabric in future paintings as I enjoy a challenge sometimes.  I have several more reference photos of still life set ups I photographed using this cloth.   This set up just appealed to me to try to paint first.
