Work in Progress - Horses at South Padre Island

There will be more horses on the dunes in this painting when it is finished. I am rather happy with this beginning. South Padre Island, Texas, holds many memories for me. Below are a couple of reference photos for this painting that I took a few years ago. I had believed and posted earlier that these photos were taken at North Padre Island, but a friend who was on the trip with me assured me recently that it was South Padre Island.
