Hamakua Marsh - Finished Painting

Final details and color corrections in the water and
foreground . This was pretty much the scene in reality;
not much change except in the sky.

Hamakua Marsh - Stage 2

Thicker, richer color and some detail added here,
but still a long way until completion. I had such a
strong emotional attachment to this scene that it
there was a wonderful "flow" and the painting just
came alive all on its own.

Hamakua Marsh - Stage 1

This is the beginning stage, where I loosely block in
color and shapes in acrylic paint or in oils. This painting
was completed entirely in acrylics. This first layer of paint
is very thin, and that is very necessary to do when painting
with oils..."fat over lean".

Singapore Plumeria

What a wonderful variety of Plumeria in
Hawaii. The Singapore Plumeria is the most fragrant of all.

Pink Torch Ginger #2

Several types of ginger are found in Hawaii.
This painting is a good companion for the previous
post "Just Peachy - Hibiscus". I did not paint
both at the same time, but loved the colors so much
in one that I painted the next one similiar.
