"Red Tulips And Calico"

6"x8" Oil on Raymar panel
$250

This little gem was a bit time consuming with the extra detail in the calico cloth.   Just the same,  I will use this calico fabric in future paintings as I enjoy a challenge sometimes.  I have several more reference photos of still life set ups I photographed using this cloth.   This set up just appealed to me to try to paint first.

"Simple Elegance"

6"x8" oil on linen Raymar panel
            $250

I seem to be concentrating on flowers lately and loving every moment of painting them.  Lilies are quite elegant and I shall paint more lilies in the near future.

"Special Vase"

6"x8" Oil on Linen Raymar Panel
$300   Sold

Painting the various colors reflected in this vase was a challenge, especially since it is a miniature painting.   I might use this as a study to paint a larger painting in the future in an effort to more fully capture the colors in the vase.

"Makiki Heights Home"

8"x10" Oil on canvas
$500

This is a recent painting that I "finished" a month or so ago, but this week decided to work on it some more and I think it is greatly improved.   Sometimes it is a good idea to do that -- go back with a fresh eye.

Another Still Life Reference Photograph

Thought you might like to see two of my recent still life set ups I photographed in hopes of painting them soon.  I photograph the flowers immediately after purchasing them before they have a chance to fade, like they would  if I attempted to paint them from life--fading before I finished the painting.  By taking photos of them while they are fresh, they are always at their best while I paint from the reference picture.   Let me know which photo you like the best or any other comment you may have.

Thank you for visiting  and please return often!
