Works In Progress - Gerbera Daisies And Bees
These are works in progress I first posted this past Saturday. The bottom painting still has quite a ways to go to completion, and the first image with two bees and two gerbera I might be able to finish the next time I work on it. I rather like the interest the bees give the paintings. I need to take more reference photos of bees in different "poses". Let me know what you think .

Works In Progress - Gerbera
The paintings shown here on my easel are works in progress of pink gerbera daisies. They are each 8" x 8" oil on canvas. I do not think I will finish them today but thought you would like to see what I have been working on this morning. I am thinking of including bees in the upper section of each painting...just for fun !
Below are my reference photos I took a few months ago of these flowers purchased at a florist.
Stayed tuned for the finished paintings !

Full Moon At Dawn (Hawaii)
Full Moon At Dawn
5" x 7" Acrylic on canvas on panel
Available
I finished this painting a few minutes ago; it is one I had mentioned in an earlier post that I had been working on. Sometimes it is difficult to know when a painting is finished. But then, perhaps it is like Paul Gardner has said, "A painting is never finished - it simply stops in interesting places."
This scene is based on a photograph I took on the Big Island of Hawaii.
Below is a better photograph of my wood duck painting I posted previously.
"Oh So Blue"
12" x 16" Acrylic on panel
Available

Oh So Blue - Drake Wood Duck
Oh So Blue
12" x 16" Acrylic on panel
Available
This was finished in the wee hours this morning (Friday). The blue water is really very blue, but this photo exaggerates the blue a bit. I rather like how the water turned out, especially the refreshing blue. Let me know what you think.

Second Stage - WIP Wood Duck
Work In Progress- Second Stage
12" x 16" acrylic on panel
Guess it is pretty obvious that I made the water more blue now instead of with a lot of green in it. This is still very much unfinished and I need to tone down the water more and correct and add some things. Hopefully it will be finished tomorrow or the next day.
I welcome any questions and comments !

The Going Is Slow
This is a photo taken about 4 years ago on the "Big Island" of Hawaii. I recently worked for about 3 days on a miniature painting inspired by this photo; although in the painting I put in a white farmhouse and a red barn and it is dawn with a full moon . Now that I got your curiosity up, I'm not ready to post the painting yet because there is something just not to my liking about how it turned out so I am setting it aside for now and will begin work on my wood duck painting this afternoon. But I did want to share with you these photos below of a beautiful waterfall on the Big Island. Well, I goofed trying to align the pictures. I hope to paint this waterfall found in a botanical garden whose name I can't recall at the moment. I included the photo of myself and my son just to give you an idea of the scale of the waterfall.
I have been painting very slowly lately ! Hopefully the wood duck painting will be finished in 2 or 3 days, so please visit again real soon.
