The Clouds Speak (Oil Sunset Seascape by Seascape Artist Carol Reynolds)

"The artist must say it without saying it."  - Duke Ellington

"The Clouds Speak" - Psalm 69:34

6" x 12" oil on gallery wrap canvas
$595

This small oil sunset seascape, though based on a reference photograph, was created  mostly from my imagination, especially the dramatic clouds.   The reference photo has a dull grey sky.

I went back to painting a smaller canvas for now.  I have been ill with bronchitis with other side effects and have not felt like painting.   I tire easily and need to rest more, so the going has been slow lately.    I will resume painting larger canvases when I am feeling better.

The Oil Is Flowing

"Hawaiian Sunset"
4" x 6" oil on panel
$225

The oil is flowing again - at the easel that is.   I switched back to using oils today and it felt wonderful.  This miniature seascape is a "warm up" for the larger oil (of a different subject) that I will work on tomorrow.   I may tweak this seascape a little more, but I rather like its simplicity and slightly impressionistic look.

Full Moon At Sunset - Hawaii

6" x 6" Acrylic on canvas
$300

I was just in the mood to paint a full moon, but I wanted it to be different from the typical dark blue sky at the midnight hour.     My original intention was to have the sky more soft and subtle with delicate colors,  but once I began painting things just happened on their own and before I knew it the colors had intensified and cloud formations I had not intended to paint at the beginning suddenly appeared.   I decided I was satisfied with the outcome and signed it , although it painted itself !
