"Endurance" - Windswept Tree on Beach (Oil Seascape Painting by Hawaii Seascape Artist Carol Reynolds)

"Endurance"  (Matthew 24:13)
6" x 12" oil on gallery wrap canvas
$425

This oil seascape of a windswept tree on the beach in Kapaa, Kauai, has been on my mind to paint for a long time.   I admire trees and their character; each tree is unique and has a different story to tell.   This particular one could really tell some whoppers, judging from its weather formed shape.

It is painted with exceptional artist oils and, since it is on gallery wrap canvas and the sides are also painted, you need not frame it.    However, I always recommend a nice frame for a more elegant presentation.

Please contact me at reynoldsrenditions@gmail.com to purchase this new work.

Fishermen At Kailua Bay For Halalu Run - Oil Seascape by Hawaii artist Carol Reynolds

"Fishermen at Kailua Bay - Halalu Run"
8" x 16" oil on canvas
$1275

This oil seascape shows fishermen with their net anticipating a good catch of Halalu, which are juvenile akule, a fish indigenous to Hawaii and often called "Big Eyed" scad.   They can be eaten or used for bait for much larger fish.    I was at the right place at the right time to snap reference photos of the fishermen at Kailua Beach on Oahu.

The peninsula in the background is known as Mokapu peninsula, as well as King Kamehameha's Turtle.   Legend says that the "Turtle" hides a secret underwater tunnel that King Kamehameha  used to travel to the island of Molokai.  This peninsula is now home to Kaneohe Marine Corps Base.

Below is a video of  people fishing for halalu at Waimea Bay, another beach on Oahu.

South Padre Island Splendor - Seascape (News)

South Padre Island Splendor
20" x 16" oil on canvas
$3,200

The news about this oil seascape of South Padre Island, Texas, is that I am offering the original for sale now.   For a long time I had wanted to keep it for my personal collection, but today I decided to offer it for sale.   It has been attracting a lot of attention on Fine Art America where it is offered as a print in various formats.  Check it out here . I had erroneously deleted the comments there at FAA about the image, but this seascape  has had more views at that site than any of my other paintings or photographs found there.  Contact me by email, reynoldsrenditions@gmail.com  if you would like to purchase this original painting.

I am still busy painting away and will post new work soon, maybe tomorrow.   Thank you for stopping by today!

This oil seascape is typical of the Hawaiian islands and is based on one of my reference photos taken on Oahu.  I love to watch the waves crash against the rocks and hear the sounds of the surf.   Such power !

Sailing At Dawn's Full Moon - Seascape

"Sailing At Dawn's Full Moon"
6" x 6" oil on panel

This sailboat was near Waikiki.  I guess it is obvious I seem to be in a seascape painting mood lately.

Tropical Shores (Re-worked) - Seascape

"Even after all this time the sun never says to the earth, 'You owe me.'  Look what happens with a love like that, it lights up the whole sky."  - Hafiz

"Tropical Shores"
5" x 7" oil on panel
$275

This oil seascape cried out to be improved from a previous post   This ocean scene is totally from my imagination although it is typical of Hawaii and other tropical beaches.   The blues are not quite as intense in the original painting as this image depicts.

Moonlight Drama - Seascape

"Moonlight Drama"
6" x 6" oil on gessobord panel
$350

It was difficult to accurately photograph the various blues in this oil seascape, but this image is pretty close.  Blue seems to be the only color my camera has "issues" with   :-)     I will be working on several 6" x 6" paintings for awhile, with a larger work now and then.

Beautiful Baby Makapu'u Beach

"Beautiful Baby Makapu'u Beach"
6" x 8" oil on canvas

I have painted this area once before in watercolors from a slightly different angle/spot.   I have several reference photos of there and intend to paint this beach again in the future.   There is a pier between the two white buildings in the far background.

Baby Makapu'u Beach is located on the windward or eastern shores of Oahu, Hawaii, near Sea Life Park .
It is usually not very crowded, and locals fish out by the rocks near this spot.  It is a great place for children and for tide pooling.

Morning At Lanikai Beach

"Morning At Lanikai Beach"
12" x 24" Oil on canvas

Lanikai Beach is located in a suburb of Kailua, on the windward coast of Oahu.   The waters are a beautiful turquoise and this beach has been the winner of many "Best Beaches" awards.   In Hawaiian, Lanikai  means "heavenly sea" and it truly is a bit of paradise on earth.   The sand is a bit more white than this painting indicates.   The two islands offshore are the Mokuluas, which means in Hawaiian "the two islands".   They are state protected bird sanctuaries, although the island on the left (Moku Nui) is allowed visitors in certain areas.   You can reach it by kayak or boat or outrigger canoe.   The outrigger canoes in this painting are pretty much the way they looked in my reference photograph.

I hope to visit this beach again very soon.

Thank you for visiting my blog today.

Lanikai Beach - Mokulua Islands (work in progress)

"Lanikai Beach And Mokulua Islands"
Work In Progress
12" x 24" oil on canvas

Lanikai Beach on Oahu in Hawaii is a gorgeous beach near Kailua Beach Park....they rather just blend into each other.  This painting is off to a good start and hopefully will continue to flow well.   I will add more figures by the outrigger canoes and tone down that orange canoe some.   There is much detail that needs to be added.   I had a blast with the sky !

Tropical Shores

"Tropical Shores"
5" x 7" oil on canvas on panel

This seascape is totally from my imagination but is very typical of many tropical beaches.   I especially enjoyed painting the colorful cloud; clouds are special to me and to capture them on canvas is sometimes a challenge.
